Hello once again everyone,

This is the third and main thread I will be posting regarding my past company, Midnight Haze Auto Concepts. Its a direct lead-in from the last one, found here:

So, why the new thread.

Well, I'm here to take the time and to put the ball in motion on taking care of the last few that had otherwise lost hope. To take care of those that took a chance on me long ago.

I'm here to show that I haven't forgotten about you guys and, if anything, I owe it to all of you for teaching me a lot about business (... or more specifically, how NOT to run a business. :p)

However, I should mention, that you guys also taught me a lot about friendship as well. I realize it may not have much face-value now, but you guys were my family. My past posts, as many of you can go back and look at, are a testament to this.

But, I let you all down. I tried to hold up the walls for as long as I could, though I was too proud to admit I had a problem on my hands and was in over my head. And for this, I'm here to give a long overdue apology publicly and sincerely - to all of you.

The Current State of Midnight Haze
Midnight Haze had many problems. I learned a lot from it. Not a single day has passed where I didn't think about the friends I left behind and how I would try to make it up to them.

And that right there, is what has lead me back here today.

I've had a lot of time to think, a lot of time to plan. I knew that not if, but when I returned, I would have to make things right. There is no easy way to do this.

So quite some time ago I committed to it. Even though I haven't publicly been here to announce it, over the last few years refunds for new orders from Midnight Haze have continued to be given. Orders for items other than lighting products have continued to be fulfilled quietly. This was all done without much attention, the worst of it was years ago.

As some of you know, I still work with Ryan (Highway / Cianci USA) all the time. You might not have known it, but his new company website was made by yours truly in an effort to help him drum up more business to continue to build parts for the 3s.

But, the question is, what do I have to offer to fix things? Well... short of entertaining on the streets for tips or trying to get DJ gigs in this piss poor economy, I've only got one thing that still makes money. And surprisingly, its the one thing that got me in this mess in the first place. And that, ironically enough, is Midnight Haze.

That leaves me in a tough situation. Do I pick back up and actively work on the business that left a sour taste in so many people's mouths? Or do I shut it down for good.

And that pretty much brings us up to the current.

Midnight Haze's Resolutions
So, this is the predicament I find myself in. I have a business that still ranks high on the search engines and has products that people still desire. But the question now is, am I willing to make this work?

The answer, after much thought and planning, is yes.

My plan is, in theory, to rebuild the company directly around taking care of those that are owed from the Midnight Haze days. Then, from there - if you guys will still have me, we'll see how it goes from there.

Things have changed. I'm older, wiser and I can't afford make the same mistakes twice. Its either the dumbest idea I've ever had to reopen Midnight Haze, or if it works out - it'll be a beautiful thing.

So, as of today, May 15th, 2009 - a date that I have been preparing for quite some time, I have two announcements for you all:
  • I am announcing my full-time return to supporting and rebuilding my business for the 3s platform.

And my other announcement?

  • All income and proceeds, minus that which is needed to fund basic operating costs, will go directly into full reimbursements of those left burnt by Midnight Haze until ALL clients are satisfied. Myself and my employs will be working for free until this is resolved

And that's just the start of it.

Midnight Haze becomes Midnight Auto Concepts
Its a start of a new era. There is no question that it is time for us to 'grow up', so to speak, and get back to the fundamentals. So, as of today, we will be dropping the 'Haze' from our name and yet, not to confuse past clients or hide who we are, our company will now be known simply as: Midnight Auto Concepts.

Product wise, we have once again become a full-time distributor for Cianci USA. Just like old times, we will be working hand-in-hand with them on taking care of those looking for (as you guys know) quality fiberglass and carbon fiber products for the 3s market. As I've literally lived and breathed almost every product he has made for our cars, I'm able to help get the inside word out on upcoming projects and to answer any questions you may have about them.

As far as my products go, I have lots of ideas that I've been itching to put into action. However, in the interest of not letting history repeat itself, we will NOT be taking back-orders, and we have devised a system to prevent orders from being placed that we are unable to fulfill.

A system, you ask? One of the largest setbacks my company had back in the day was communication and a flexible means for clients to get ahold of us. It was either here on the forums, or through the email. Our website, was literally useless. Straight out of 1999.

So with this in mind, I am happy to release our brand new, completely revamped website. Beyond a new 2009 layout, the true icing on the cake can be found in the new features:
  • Real-time order history & tracking
  • Built-in shopping cart
  • Personalized accounts
  • Live product updates, including stock status notifications
  • Searching, gift certificates, discounts, promotional sales, etc

But most importantly, under the circumstances, the most important feature I wanted to include was a way for clients to get resolution. After all, that's what this is all about.

Official Online Resolutions Center
Past customers: for those of you that filled out the the form from the last thread, you were given a unique Resolutions ID number. This was the first step in helping not only update your contact information with us, but also to help organize a system to get you taken care of. Some of you were really good at keeping records (OBX, Patric, Jimmy, etc), but I understand that so much time has passed, some information has been lost with time.

Fortunately, I'm pleased to announce that this will not be a problem. Using that Resolutions ID, you will be able to log into the website and get a live tracking of your resolution status in the queue. This may be overkill, but sadly this was the part I was most excited about implementing throughout the website as I've never seen anyone take the time to do it. A public view can be found on the main page as well, with a simple meter that will allow others to keep tabs on if we're keeping good on our word.

To enable your tracking, simply create a new custom account, and in that process you will be prompted for that Resolution Code.

For anyone that hasn't seen the threads from earlier this month and still need a resolution code, simply create an account as normal, and check the box that says you have an open order with us. Our website will take care of the rest.

So, about that website:

The old domain will stay active to redirect old clients back to the new site for Resolution. All old email addresses will remain live as well.

To celebrate this opening, we will be giving away 10% Discount Certificates to each person that makes an account this weekend. This is a one time promotion and is applicable to the purchase of most all Cianci USA and Midnight Auto brand products.

Final Words
So, fellow 3si'rs, as you can see, I've already gotten a head start in taking care of things.

But, this won't be without its caveats. There will be some people against the idea. There will be people in this thread that don't believe in second chances. I am prepared for this.

I'm not here to pit people against eachother regarding whether they support me or not on this endeavor. But I can only hope that the time I've spent on putting this plan of action together shows EXACTLY how much I want to get this taken care of.

On a final note, in agreement to the 3si policies which I totally have respect for, I will *not* be selling here on the forums, but strictly independently until I have legitimately earned my way back.

Good to here from you again. To be honest I have long since moved on from the issues I had with you. I think its great to see you are trying to do the right thing for your customers and I really hope your business every success for the future.

If you manage to come up with any more inivotive ideas for the 3000GT platform keep me posted.

Hey good luck to you man. Just don't get cocky and don't get in over your head. Fix what was broken pay back what you owe and don't make the same mistake twice. If it were not for second chances in life allot of people would be nothing today. As long as you make what was wrong right no one can hold you down.

i'm still interested in a 100% custom LED interior. i'm willing to wait to pay full price though. although it is nice to see you back shaun...i'm going to adopt a "wait & see" policy.
